o initiate improvement proposals concerning production process and routines, in order to raise the efficiency and quality level of the process
o lead and/or participate in process related 2nd line problem analysis / optimization projects of existing processes , using the dmaic methodology within the field of expertise.
o participate in process related improvements initiatives.
o manage internal improvement projects arising from e.g. kaizen events, black belt projects, 6-panels, …
• efficiency and productivity running production
o elaborate and define ratio proposals of operator working load.
o supports the plant in reaching man-hour targets on running models according to decided frames and working procedures (ratio).
o perform the necessary time studies on process improvements and changes (excluding time studies under the responsibility of manufacturing engineering).
o improve production working places
o improve efficiency of existing processes and equipment, using the value stream map technique (retrieval of information to analyze the process on a regular basis in function of oee (overall equipment efficiency) , iee (internal equipment efficiency), equipment availability, product throughput times, frequent disturbances, quality loss …)
• product changes in running production
o responsible for the necessary time studies for new or changed processes as a result of running product changes (excl. time studies under responsibility of manufacturing engineering )
• process studies
o execute and report long and short term process studies related to car volume changes, mix changes, in- and outsourcing, and changed oee demands (overall equipment efficiency)
o provide manufacturing engineering (core, commodity and facilities, tooling and equipment ) with the requested running process information required to set the future processes.
o perform the necessary time studies for new or planned changes on the processes (excluding time studies under the responsibility of manufacturing engineering).
o prepare material (facts and figures) regarding proposed process changes and eventual investments.
o supervise process technician tasks etc. (na for european plants).
