The main function of public libraries is to provide books for people toread.In a library,there are books on different subjects,such as Chinesehistory,fine art,science,English literature,and so on.There are also works fofiction.

The public libraries are crowded with people on weekdays as well as Sundaysbecause many people,especially students who want to consult reference books fortheir school work,know that they could at least learn something there.

Besides reading in the library,we can also borrow books with librarycards.But books on loan had to be returned within a couple of weeks.As far as Iknow the number of people who borrow books from public libraries is increasingyear after year.

I go to the City Hall library twice a month to read.
